Air New Zealand Dreamliner 787-9
Air
New Zealand introduced the Dreamliner 787-9 to their fleet in late 2014. Here’s
some facts and features of this magnificent new aircraft:
- The 787-9 uses 20% less fuel than similar aircraft
- It utilises a new air purification system resulting in cleaner, healthier air
- Lowered altitude and higher humidity in the cabin results in more comfortable flying
- The inflight entertainment is similar in design and use to an app on a tablet or phone
- The large windows do not have blinds but are dimmed by touch
Classes
on the Dreamliner 787-9
Business
Premier features lay flat leather seats with two full size pillows and a duvet.
The seat is 22” wide and in bed mode it’s 33” wide at the shoulder and 79”
long.
Premium
Economy
This
class has luxury leather seats with a leg rest and extendable foot support. The
armrest is 5” wide and the touch screen is an 11”.
Economy
Skycouch
There
are 14 rows in this class and the Skycouch is a row of three seats that convert
into a flat surface for rest or play.
Economy
These
seats have slim-line backs and flexible headrests. The seats are 17.2” wide and
the touch screen is a 9”.
